Fiberglass backboards can split open, develop dead spots, and irregular rebounds when the thin outer shell separates from the core. Fiberglass backboards are easily damaged by lacrosse and soccer practice. 8′-High Fiberglass backboards provide very little hitting surface. Fiberglass backboards are very fragile, splitting and cracking can occur. Dead spots can develop when fiberglass backboards are used for Lacrosse or Soccer practice.
